A Farmhouse in Tuscany and the town of Siena

We enjoyed two nights at Agriturismo Marciano in Siena.  This was an organic farm where they make their own wines and olive oil. After we went to town and visited Il Campo  (site of the famous horse races in the summer) and the Duomo containing gorgeous statues created by Michelangelo and others, we returned back to the house to do our laundry, hoping the jeans would dry in time by hanging them over the radiators (no clothes dryer--and they did). After a bit of downtime, we were given a personal tour of the vineyards and winery. The brother with a degree in agronomy tends to the grapes and winemaking (40,000 bottles a year--considered a small production number) and sister (with her husband) manages the property including the guesthouse. This morning, we boarded a fast train to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance.
