Last day in Rome: The Colosseum & the Forum

Sunday morning in Rome...cooler and a light drizzle.  We hoped to see the ancient sites before the crowds hit.  Our Rick Steves audio tour delivered the highlights into connecting earbuds and we enjoyed the corny jokes and historical narrative.  Rome was bustling, noisy, and beautifully busy.  I am ready to move on to the country.  Next stop: Siena.  We board the bus soon and will look out the window for a three hour scenic journey headed north through Tuscany.  Looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the view at a slower pace for the next couple of days.  We will arrive at Agriturismo Marciano just in time for a farmhouse dinner tonight.  Ciao for now.

Fig tree, I think...
Julius Ceasar died here, not on the steps.

The Roman Forum--Washington DC, ancient style
I think you know what this is...

Pictures of hot Italian military men: Pat promised to send photos of the guys to the women at the gym.  I already have my own hot Italian man at home. Most of the men and women are gorgeous in Rome...good people watching.
